SOLO, solotrust.com – Sejak album solonya ‘Lost and Found’ dirilis 2005 silam, Will Smith baru kembali dengan single baru ‘Get Lit’ yang rilis tahun lalu. Tahun ini, tepatnya Jumat (25/5/2018), Big Willie kembali dengan track baru yang berkolaborasi dengan Diplo, Nicky Jam, dan penyanyi Albania, Era Istrefi.

Lagu tersebut adalah lagu resmi untuk Piala Dunia Rusia yang akan berlangsung 14 Juni hingga 15 Juli mendatang. Berjudul ‘Live It Up’, Will Smith melakukan rap dalam lagu tersebut.

“One life, one dream, no moment, one team. One youth, lights high, thousand road blocks, one shot. One truth, no fears, one flag, oh yeah~ We’ve been waiting for this all year. Where y’all at? We’re right here!,” demikian lirik dari rap Will Smith yang terletak di versi pertama lagu.

Kendati awalnya dikenal sebagai seorang rapper dengan nama panggung ‘The Fresh Prince’ pada tahun 80-an, Will Smith telah lama tidak tampil dalam bidang musik dan lebih aktif dalam bidang akting.Ia dikenal luas karena perannya dalam film seperti ‘Ali’, ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’, dan ‘Men in Black’.

Dalam karirnya, selain bersama partnernya, DJ Jeff yang telah menelurkan lima album dari tahun 1987 hingga 1993. Will Smith sendiri pernah merilis sejumlah album solo yakni ‘Big Willie Style’ (1997), ‘Willennium’ (1999), ‘Born To Reign’ (2002) dan ‘Lost and Found’ (2005).

Dalam ajang Grammy, Will Smith pun pernah empat kali memenangkan penghargaan musik bergengsi tersebut yakni Best Rap Solo Performance untuk lagu ‘Parents Just Don’t Understand (dengan DJ Jazzy Jeff) tahun 1988, Best Rap Performance by A Duo or Group dengan ‘Summertime’ tahun 1992 dan Best Rap Solo Performance untuk ‘Men In Black’ di tahun 1998  dan ‘Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It’ di tahun 1999.
